The Squeezes – Meaningful Move™

We’ve all been to a wedding, party or some type of banquet with a dance floor. If you’re like me, sometimes you feel like dancing when your favorite song is on, but the second “Wake me up before you go go” comes on you make a bee-line for the buffet. I think the best part about these kinds of events is watching how people react to the opportunity to bust a move. Continue reading

Homemade Deodorant

This week I am celebrating the conclusion of a 5 YEAR SEARCH for the right deodorant!  It may seem a bit funny, but for the last five years I have really been trying to find a product that works.

How do I know it’s been 5 years?

I know it has been 5 years because my quest to find a natural deodorant that works began the day my son was born.  As I was settling in with my newborn baby, my midwife walked into my bathroom, came out with my Lady Speed Stick and funnily said, “Who’s is this? This week’s blog post features guest author, Rebecca McCloskey, LCSW, Specialist Professor of Social Work at Monmouth University, chapter leader for New Jersey BirthNetwork, and volunteer administrator for Human Milk 4 Human Babies – New Jersey.  Continue reading

The I Love You Hugs – Meaningful Moves™

Many different movements that cultivate safety are presented in a Meaningful Moves® workshop or session but one of my favorites is the “I Love You Hugs”.  This movement can be practiced with the youngest of babies and is also great for toddlers, children and people of all sizes and shapes.  You can even modify it for yourself, and find yourself more easily and calmly reacting to the situations that may at one time have been a bit rattling.  Start your practice with your babies, children and yourself today!  I hope you enjoy the video of the “I Love You Hugs” and remember, leave me your comments on how it works for you!  Continue reading

Sarah Lane’s Mixed Bag of Professions

When people ask me what I do for a living, I have to take a deep breath and pace myself before attempting to explain how this mixed bag of professions came to be.  It’s not always easy to explain what optometry, yoga and HypnoBirthing® all have to do with one another.  As time goes by and as my children grow I see the connections becoming stronger and feel affirmed that seemingly unrelated fields of practice sometimes create exactly what a parent, child and community need to blossom.  Continue reading
